“Vancouver Island Real Estate Board reports a 23-per cent increase in home sales, which takes in all municipalities north of the Malahat.
Notably, the greatest increase in sales happened in the Island’s more distant communities, Campbell River and Port Alberni-west. In Nanaimo, 125 units sold in June, a three per cent increase against to the same month a year ago.
By comparison, sales jumped 59 per cent, to 27 units in Port Alberni. In Campbell River, where the John Hart dam project is in full swing, 64 units sold, a 73-per cent increase.”
